Following on from the bands critically acclaimed debut 'Strength in Numbers', South Australian riff crushers Headbore are returning with a powerful follow up. 2016 will see the band unleash its second full length album titled 'The Grey'.
Recording the album once again at Against the Grain Studio with engineer Andy Kite in the bands hometown of Adelaide, Headbore have raised the bar from the bands powerful debut. Potent powerful grooves have become a trademark of the band’s sound, embellished with hook laden melody. 'The Grey' - completed with mastering by Zeuss at Planet Z Studio, USA (Hatebreed, Soulfly, Rob Zombie) - captures the bands powerful drive and takes it to a new level of confidence. Fans of bands such as Lamb of God, Machine Head, Chimaira and Pantera will most definitely resonate with 'the bands sophomore album.
The title reflects the impact of questionable psychological medical practices and the band’s debut video for the title track and album art clearly demonstrates that message. Artwork for the album was created by Dan Verkys (Eye of the Enemy) and the clip was filmed at Glenside Hospital in an infamous and now abandoned psychiatric unit in the bands home State of South Australia. The clip is an excursion into manic delusions and painful medical practices and once again demonstrates the bands ability to act as much as play, as they did on their previous video clip for 'temptress' .
Since forming in 2011 Headbore have gone from strength to strength, building a national profile and receiving critical acclaim for the band’s debut 'Strength in Numbers'. Produced by Andy Kite at Against The Grain Studio and Mastered by the renowned Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Soilwork) the band’s debut and powerful live show caught the attention of Truth Inc Records, Management and Touring (Mors Principium Est, Kyzer Soze, Truth Corroded) which led to a worldwide licensing and management deal.
2016 will be a big year for the band as it sets out to build and tour to destroy in support of 'The Grey'. Having performed alongside iconic Australian acts such as King Parrot, Claim the Throne, In Malices Wake, Alarum, Truth Corroded and Lord, the next step for Headbore will be touring overseas and establishing a powerful presence in Australia.
